Explore Czech Lands: Vltava Trail is a 60-mile-long waterway from the center of Ceske Budejovice (Lann’s shipyard), via Hluboka nad Vltavou, to Tyn nad Vltavou, and next to the Kolodeje na Luznici, where you can visit Chateau Mitrowicz. The lock on Hnevkovice dam was built in 2017.
Czech Cities & Towns: Town of Slavonice – The basis of Slavonice’s treasure consists of the extraordinarily valuable complex of burgher houses from the late Gothic and especially Renaissance periods. Historical residential houses still set the character of the whole historical core of the town.
Special Report: Town of Lenora in the Sumava Mountains is famous for its bread baking tradition and still has a functioning public bread oven dating back to 1837. The public oven was used by poor families who could not afford an oven in their home.
